This is a brand new hotel and still had construction underway during our stay. We knew this going in, as we got a good rate for an October weekend at $100 per night double occupancy.
So we expected some teething problems, and there were some. First, the good: The room was stylish and the furnishings (including a nice warm comforter – more on that later) new.
The king sized bed was very comfortable, and the walk-in shower was great (good hot water, good pressure, expansive). The fridge worked, and the TV had to be 50″+. The staff was very friendly.
Now the problems (keeping in mind that construction was still underway): Minor things that will probably be fixed soon included no toilet paper holder, no counter/shelf space in the bathroom, and no wastebasket in the bedroom.
More annoying was no premium channels on the TV, and although it offered a Chromecast connection, we discovered to our frustration that the hotel hadn’t gotten that up and running yet.
Also, oddly, there was no top sheet on the bed. We informed the desk of this the next morning, but when we returned that evening a folded top sheet had been placed on the chaise, but not added to the bed.
Weird, especially considering the housekeeping was otherwise good and responsive. The reason for the 3-star rating, however, is that THERE WAS NO HEAT IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL, a fact that we had to discover for ourselves.
Our room was 62° when we went to bed, so the aforementioned comforter turned out to be essential. We only found out about this glaring problem when we called down about the ineffectiveness of the thermostat.
This is something we should have been informed about when we made our reservation, full stop.
